Non Stop Action are PE Specialists with a proven track record of improving the attainment of children and developing the teaching of staff in schools.

Our PE Curriculum has been devised by qualified teachers and shows clear progression between the different year groups. It meets the requirements of the National Curriculum and the new Ofsted framework.

Quality & Training

We pride ourselves on the quality of teaching we deliver, and we make sure to continually maintain and improve this through regular staff observations and INSETs.

All our staff are recruited using safer recruitment principles, receive annual safeguarding training in line with the DFE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education, and hold fully enhanced DBS certificates.

The engagement of children in Sport and PE is essential to making children physically literate for life. Our specialists strive to create a positive environment for learning in all our lessons. We offer Dance, Gymnastic and outdoor sport units for the EYFS up to KS2. We aim to mirror the experience the children get in the classroom in our lessons, by including:

Focused learning objectives and success criteria for children to track their own progress
Frequent opportunities for peer and self-assessment
The use of ICT/technology within our lessons
Differentiation and challenges to meet the needs of all children
Clear structured behaviour management strategies that work in partnership with your school’s own system

Our PPA package not only includes the experienced teachers and high-quality lessons we provide, but also provides:

Half-termly assessments which are analysed and moderated
Access to our curriculum maps and skills progressions for each year group
Support in preparing for a Deep Dive in PE for an upcoming Ofsted inspection

Given the limited focus on PE during initial teacher training, many teachers lack confidence in this subject. Through CPD programme, class teachers working alongside our PE Specialists, team-teaching lessons with their class, in their own school environment. We use an evidence-based approach enabling schools to easily measure the impact of their PE and Sport Premium spend.

Similar to our PPA services, we offer CPD training from EYFS to KS2, in a range of outdoor and indoor units. Our package includes:

An experienced PE specialist working alongside your teachers
Medium term planning to assist in the training
Questionnaires to tailor our CPD programme
Pupil assessment data
Reports at the end of unit detailing the impact of the CPD training

PE & Sports Premium

The PE & Sports premium shows us that this area is a clear priority for the government. For the academic year (20-21), schools will continue to receive the doubled funding, with the following aims:

To increase the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
To raise the profile of PE and sport across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
To Increase confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
To broaden the experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupil
To increased participation in competitive sport

Also, due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, the department for Education has relaxed the ring-fencing arrangements for the PE and sport premium grant for the 2019-2020 academic year, to allow any unspent grant to be carried forward into the 2020 to 2021 academic year.

For more guidance on how to spend your PE & Sports Premium, see the government website:

We offer a range of different services and products that help schools to meet these requirements, including:

Teacher CPD
Extra-curricular clubs

We deliver breakfast, lunch and afterschool clubs, increasing opportunities within schools, getting children active in safe and familiar surroundings. We offer a wide range of age-specific clubs in a range of sports, dance and gymnastics. We provide activities and games that are structured, safe, stimulating and fun.

Schools can either retain all aspects of the administration of the club, including registers and collecting payments, as appropriate. Alternatively, you can hand over all the administration to us. We will collect payment and registration details through our purpose-built online system, dealing directly with parents.

Whichever, the school chooses, they have the peace of mind of knowing that a well-qualified teacher will deliver a high-quality session to build a club that minimises cost and maximises participation. Our clubs can even provide an income for the school.

Outdoor Education

As part of the PE National Curriculum for KS2, schools are required to offer children opportunities to ‘take part in outdoor and adventurous activity challenges, both individually and within a team’.

We can support schools to provide these opportunities either on or off site, for a few hours or across a number of days. For off-site or residential events, we work in partnership with Gilwell Park which is close to Epping Forest but only a short drive away. The children always thoroughly enjoy these days and will create some of their best school memories there, while developing resilience and team building skills along the way. Some of our favourite activities include:

Crate stacking
The 3G swing
Raft building

We can work with schools to build a bespoke package that suits the educational aims of their trip, whilst catering for the needs of all pupils.
